Former top-10 Arizona recruit whose impact has been more grit than box score
In the 2024-25 season, Montaya Dew averaged 2.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 19.9 minutes per game for Arizona, flashing versatility, length and a willingness to do the dirty work as a 6-foot-2 forward.[1][2] The bigger story, though, is resilience: she entered Tucson as Arizona’s highest-rated recruit ever, but two major knee injuries derailed her early career and ultimately led to a medical retirement in 2026, so any fit conversation has to account for durability as much as talent.[3][4]
