Anthony Costello is giving CCSU a lefty strikeout weapon out of the rotation
In the 2026 season, Anthony Costello has shown real swing-and-miss stuff for Central Connecticut, appearing in 7 games with 3 starts and striking out 16 batters in 12.2 innings, including a 4.0-inning, one-run win over Sacred Heart. The intriguing part: he’s a left-handed pitcher who can miss bats and handle starting work, which gives coaches options. The caution flag is command — the same season also showed 13 walks — so he looks like a high-upside fit if a staff wants upside and is willing to polish the edges.
