Chris Diaz is FGCU’s durable strike-throwing righty with power arm upside
In the 2026 season, Chris Diaz posted a 5-2 record with a 3.98 ERA over 72.1 innings for Florida Gulf Coast, striking out 74 while walking 26 and holding hitters to a .263 opposing average; he followed a 2025 season in which he worked 75.0 innings with 81 strikeouts. He stands out for volume, starter’s durability, and a deep five-pitch mix, with reports noting a fastball/sinker/cutter/slider/changeup arsenal and a reputation as a tough, competitive arm who can miss bats and work deep into games. If your staff wants a polished right-hander with proven innings and pro-level feel, he’s a very sensible fit.
