Gavin O’Brien’s power bat has become a real middle-order weapon for UMass
In the 2026 season, Gavin O’Brien turned into one of Massachusetts’ biggest offensive sparks, hitting .304 with 14 home runs, 49 RBI, and a 1.007 OPS while also earning MAC Player of the Week honors for a huge week that included three homers and 11 RBI. The 6-foot-4 right-handed OF/INF brings legit power, physicality, and lineup flexibility, and his production suggests a hitter who can change a game fast. If you want a big, loud bat with impact upside, he’s absolutely worth caring about.
