smart, physical, and coach-ready Badgers LB
In the 2024 season, Jake Chaney started 10 of 11 games for Wisconsin and posted 55 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and a sack, after a 2023 breakout that included 80 tackles, 3 sacks, and seven tackles for loss. He was valued less for flashy measurables than for elite processing, film study, and dependable intensity—traits that helped him become a coach’s son type of linebacker who rarely looks lost. For a team, he’s the kind of instinctive, assignment-sound defender who raises the floor and brings leadership; the tradeoff is that his game is built more on feel and toughness than pure sideline-to-sideline explosiveness.
