Rylan Leathers brings proven tackling juice to Tulsa’s secondary
Leathers is a 6-foot, 190-pound redshirt sophomore safety who arrives at Tulsa after two seasons at Idaho State, where he was a 2025 Big Sky Second Team defensive back and piled up 101 tackles, plus an interception and five pass breakups that season. He fits as a high-motor, reliable run defender who makes a lot of contact and gets around the football, with enough production to suggest he can be an immediate impact piece for Tulsa. If a team wants physicality, experience, and a willing tackler in the back end, he’s a strong fit.
