Mallory Herwerden brings rookie upside and left-side pitching depth to Akron
Mallory Herwerden is a young Akron Zips pitcher whose value is mostly about upside, not just box-score noise: she gives Akron another arm to develop, and her high-school-to-college transition suggests a long runway if her command sharpens. In the 2026 season, publicly available stat detail is limited here, so the best read is profile-based: a developing pitcher who can matter if she locates consistently, handles pressure, and grows into a reliable innings option. If your team wants a projectable pitcher with room to climb, she’s worth a close look.
