Long, left-handed arm with a real strikeout-reach profile
Tanner Ware is a 6'5" senior left-handed pitcher for Oakland who has shown enough durability to work in high-leverage bullpen and rotation spots, and he earned Horizon League Pitcher of the Week honors in 2026 after a 5.2-inning outing with one earned run and five strikeouts. His upside starts with size, handedness, and the ability to miss bats, but the results have been uneven: in 2026 he also carried a 6.53 ERA at one point and was hit hard in multiple outings, so he looks more like a developmental arm than a finished product. If your staff wants a tall, projectable southpaw with experience and some swing-and-miss juice, he’s intriguing; if you need instant reliability, the roller coaster is still in the cockpit.
