Joey Wizceb brings swing-and-miss lefty value, but 2026 command has been the red flag
In the 2026 season, Western Michigan LHP Joey Wizceb has shown the kind of frame and left-handed starter look teams like, but the results have been uneven: he entered with a 12.05 ERA, 21.2 innings, 10 strikeouts, and 17 walks, which screams command trouble more than stuff issue. His upside is real—he flashed a complete-game shutout and a 2025 MAC Pitcher of the Week honor—but the fit question is whether your staff can unlock his strike-throwing so his competitiveness and durability play up instead of the traffic on the bases.
