Jaylin Lewis brings a long, athletic frame to LIU’s linebacker room
In the 2026 season, Jaylin Lewis profiles as a 6-foot-4, 205-pound redshirt junior linebacker for LIU, giving the Sharks a rangy, physical defender with unusual length for the position. He has been listed by the program as a linebacker after previously appearing as a defensive back, which hints at versatility and a developmental upside package coaches love. The catch: publicly available stat production has been limited so far, so he looks more like a traits-and-role fit than an established star right now. If your team wants a tall, adaptable defender with room to grow, he’s a strong watch-list name.
