KJ Byers Evolves into MAC Standout After Long Beach State Roots
KJ Byers, once a defensive anchor at Long Beach State with 32 blocks and 33 steals in the 2017-18 season—highlighted by a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double at UC Riverside—has blossomed into a scoring force at Miami (OH), earning All-MAC Second Team honors in 2025-26 with 14.2 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and MAC Freshman of the Year as a rookie. His efficient scoring, relentless rebounding intensity, and proven clutch play (like game-winning assists) make him a versatile forward differentiator; ideal for teams needing a high-motor scorer with battle-tested poise—no major injury flags.
