Redshirt freshman Tairat Samuel-Afolabi brings international backcourt experience to Long Beach State
Samuel-Afolabi is a 5-foot-7 guard who redshirted in 2024-25 and, in 2025-26, is averaging 1.4 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 0.3 assists while shooting 31.4% from the field for Long Beach State. Her calling card is experience and composure: she arrived with Sweden U18 national-team reps, where she contributed in a low-usage role, and she profiles as a developmental guard who can add depth, ball-handling, and perimeter toughness rather than instant volume scoring.
