Marcus Simmons Jr. is a depth DL who brings size and upside to South Dakota
Marcus Simmons Jr. is a 6-foot-1, 270-pound defensive lineman for South Dakota who has flashed as a rotational piece and special-teams contributor, but he hasn’t yet piled up starter-level production. In 2022, he logged 10 tackles and 0.5 sacks, and his roster profile notes an injury-disrupted 2024 before a limited 2025 role, which suggests a player whose value is more about physicality, developing frame, and motor than box-score fireworks. If a team wants a tough, physical interior defender with room to grow, he’s worth a look.
