Avion Carter entered North Texas with legit blue-chip chops — a former four-star recruit who was ranked No. 193 nationally in ESPN’s 2023 class and No. 35 among defensive linemen by 247Sports. In the 2024 season at TCU, he played in three games as a redshirt freshman and preserved a redshirt; across his first two college seasons, he had limited game action but arrived in Denton at 6-foot-4 and about 280 pounds with the frame, length, and downhill juice to become a real interior problem. If you want a developmental DL with starter-level ceiling and toughness, he’s a very watchable fit.
