Tyler Mitchell gives Norfolk State a seasoned strike-throwing arm out of the bullpen
Tyler Mitchell, a 2026 senior right-handed pitcher for Norfolk State, brings experience, versatility, and a real swing-and-miss edge: he worked 23.0 innings with 22 strikeouts in 2026 after posting 26 strikeouts in 21.2 innings in 2025, and he earned his first career win in a scoreless inning at VCU on March 24, 2026. His profile suggests a useful mid-to-late relief fit for a team that wants a veteran competitor who can absorb innings and attack hitters, even if his season ERA numbers have been uneven. He also earned academic-honor-roll recognition and graduated with honors, which says something about his discipline and steadiness.
