Eric Ruiz is giving CBU a sneaky-efficient lefty bat with pop and contact
In the 2026 season, California Baptist freshman Eric Ruiz has flashed impact in limited action, posting a .357 batting average with a 1.101 OPS, 10 hits, 6 RBI, and 2 home runs, while also delivering clutch run-production moments like RBI singles and a two-run homer. Listed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, he brings a compact power profile and quick outfield defense, plus a strong prep résumé with two-time All-League and All-CIF honors. He looks like a useful fit for teams wanting a physical, versatile corner outfielder who can hit for average and timely pop.
