Julian Burns brings size, production, and versatility to UNC’s secondary
The 2026 North Carolina signee is a long, physical defensive back with a linebacker-like frame at about 6-2 to 6-3 and 194-200 pounds, and he backed it up at Neville with big-time production: 102 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks and two interceptions as a senior, plus All-State recognition. He’s valued for his downhill trigger, tackling range and disruptive playmaking, making him a strong fit for a defense that wants a safety who can cover ground and impact the run game.
