LMU RHP Jacob Fried Brings Mature, Low-Drama Depth to the Lions' Staff
Jacob Fried is a 6'5" right-hander at Loyola Marymount who, in 2026, earned his first career win after a clean ninth inning against Cal Poly, showing the kind of poise coaches value in leverage spots.[4] Public profile data also points to an analytically strong, high-academic profile and a durable frame, while his listed fastball velocity has been modest rather than overpowering, so his value is more about command, competitiveness, and dependable strike-throwing than radar-gun flash.[1][3][4] He looks like a fit for a team that wants mature depth, innings stability, and a pitcher who can handle pressure without needing headline stuff.[4]
