Jayden Shipps brings size, pedigree, and early-production upside to Maryland’s secondary
A 6'1", 182-pound freshman defensive back from Archbishop Spalding, Jayden Shipps arrived at Maryland as a three-star recruit and has already shown early reliability with 9 solo tackles in the 2025 season. He looks like a long, versatile cover man with room to grow, and his background on a three-time MIAA title team suggests he’s been coached in a winning, physical environment. For a team, he’s an intriguing developmental DB with good frame, local familiarity, and upside rather than a finished product.
