Gethro Muscadin brought size, length, and upside to the Lobos — before tragedy cut the story short
Gethro Muscadin was a 6-foot-10, athletic forward who arrived at New Mexico after his freshman season at Kansas, where he appeared in 11 games in the 2020-21 season and totaled 10 rebounds in 31 minutes. New Mexico coach Richard Pitino described him as a player with “size, skill and athleticism,” while scouting outlets called him a developmental big with length and pop. He was the kind of fit teams love: raw but intriguing, especially as a rim-running, rebounding frontcourt piece. His career was later ended by injuries from a December 2021 car crash, making him a what-could-have-been talent rather than a current contributor.
