Winthrop’s Power-Hitting Utility Star (2025 Season)
Katie Beck, a 5-9 sophomore utility pitcher for Winthrop Eagles, delivered a standout 2025 season with 10 home runs (tying for second on the team), a .281 batting average, and a 3.88 ERA in 17.29 innings pitched. Her differentiators include elite power-hitting as a freshman (program record for HRs by a freshman), dual-threat capability as RHP/UT, and intense competitive drive—evident in her 6-1 pitching record and 6 multi-hit performances. Though she missed the 2026 season due to injury (per team announcement), her 2025 intensity and versatility make her a high-fit utility asset for teams needing power and pitching depth. Personality-wise, she’s celebrated by teammates for her birthday energy and clutch wins, showing resilience and team-first spirit.
