Veteran Bronx guard who brought toughness and leadership to Texas Tech
Giovanni McLean was a steady, experienced guard for Texas Tech after transferring from Quinnipiac, bringing maturity, leadership, and a strong work-ethic reputation to the Red Raiders’ backcourt in the 2016 season. He was valued more for toughness, responsibility, and point-guard poise than flash, and reports highlighted his resilience after a difficult personal road to college basketball. If you want a connective guard who can stabilize a roster and add adult-in-the-room energy, he fits the bill; if you need a high-usage scorer, he’s not that guy.
