7'0" Defensive Anchor with Senior Intensity for Northern Illinois
Andrew Zelis, the 7'0", 255-lb senior center for Northern Illinois, stands out not just for his 53.3% field accuracy and 12 career blocks, but for his relentless defensive intensity and proven resilience after redshirting at Stetson and leading Kaskaskia College to a 23-9 record in 2014-15. As the lone senior awarded the Senior Award in 2017-18, Zelis brings a rare maturity, averaging 2.2 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per game while shooting 52.5% overall, making him a high-efficiency, low-risk fit for teams needing a physical, intelligent rim protector who thrives under pressure and elevates his play in critical moments.
