Camron Cooper brings veteran edge, special-teams grit, and preseason respect to UTSA
After a 2025 season-ending opener injury at Texas A&M, Cooper enters 2026 as a redshirt junior and a preseason Phil Steele third-team All-American Conference pick, which says coaches and evaluators still see real value in his all-around game[1][9]. In 2024, he played in all 13 games, flashed as a pass-rush piece with two sacks and a forced fumble, and also made his mark on special teams with a blocked punt[11][15]. At 6-3 and about 245 pounds, he fits the modern edge/LB mold: physical, versatile, and disruptive when healthy[1][14].
