James Hubbard brings strike-throwing upside and midweek rotation value to UTSA
James Hubbard, a right-handed pitcher for UTSA in the 2025 season, profiles as a useful depth starter with strikeout ability and solid command: he logged 24.1 innings, struck out 23, and walked only seven while making six starts, with five coming in midweek games.[1] His best outing was a five-inning, seven-strikeout performance against Houston Christian, and his college track record shows a power arm at its best when he’s locating the fastball and missing bats, though his results have been more uneven across stops, so he looks like a fit for teams needing dependable innings and upside rather than immediate ace-level polish.[1][2]
