Byron Nelson brings polished, high-floor trench help to UNC
Byron Nelson is a 2025 redshirt freshman offensive lineman for North Carolina who arrived as a technically sound, physically ready interior blocker at 6-3, 300 pounds. In his high school career at Katy, he started 20 varsity games, allowed just one sack, served as a team captain, and helped drive productive run games — the kind of résumé that screams reliability more than flash. He projects as a guard/center type with good point-of-attack strength, steady finishing ability, and a blue-collar edge that should fit a physical line room.
