Tariq Simmons brings steady backcourt experience to South Carolina State
In the 2020-21 season, Tariq Simmons gave South Carolina State a seasoned, low-drama guard who could handle minutes and chip in across the board, averaging 5.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.6 steals per game while shooting 79.2% from the line. He’s a fit if you want a mature, pass-first combo guard with local ties, defensive activity, and a proven track record from multiple collegiate stops; the tradeoff is that he has been more solid than explosive, with modest scoring efficiency from the field.
