Jalin Hart’s UIW arc: a scoring-and-distribution guard with proven all-conference upside
In the 2016-17 season, Jalin Hart was one of UIW’s most complete guards: he averaged 15.9 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.5 rebounds while shooting 51.7% from the field and 39.4% from three, and he led the Southland Conference in assists with 135 on the year. UIW also named him Southland Newcomer of the Year and an all-conference selection, which tracks with the film: a crafty point guard who can create offense, pressure defenses, and make winning plays in space. The catch? His later college availability was impacted by academics, so any team would need confidence in his off-court reliability as much as his on-court juice.
