Cooper Casteel brings veteran left-handed bite to Tennessee Tech’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Cooper Casteel has shown the kind of trusted, swing-and-miss lefty profile coaches love: he logged a 6.0-inning win with just 1 earned run against Ohio, and Tennessee Tech leaned on him as a projected starter after he arrived from Lee University, where he posted a 3.24 ERA in 2025. He looks like a polished, competitive arm with experience, command, and enough toughness to survive in high-leverage spots—less of a mystery box, more of a known quantity. If your team wants a mature LHP who can handle starting duties and not flinch when the lights get brighter, he fits.
