Lefty outfielder with pop, patience, and room to rise
Asafa Jones is a redshirt freshman outfielder for Jackson State in the 2026 season who brings a left-handed bat, solid on-base skills, and some real extra-base thump to the lineup. He posted a .173 average with a .338 OBP, .288 SLG, 1 home run, and 8 RBI in 2026, showing more walk-and-grind value than pure batting-average shine. Jackson State also lists him at 6'0", 210 pounds, and he has already shown he can impact games with clutch moments, including a homer in a midweek win. The big swing factor: he’s a power-speed upside play with development left, especially after a season-ending injury.
