Izzy Ramirez gives Coastal Carolina a steady, hard-nosed presence behind the plate
Izzy Ramirez is a 5-foot-3 sophomore catcher for Coastal Carolina who brings a gritty, contact-oriented bat and a reputation for leadership—she was a two-year captain in high school, earned back-to-back all-district first-team honors, and was named MVP in 2024. In the 2026 season, she has flashed gap power and timely production, including a home run and multi-RBI game in February, while also showing the everyday toughness coaches love from a catcher. She looks like a fit for a team that values energy, maturity, and reliable defense.
