Iowa’s booming, precision punter with upside
In the 2025 season, Rhys Dakin was a steady weapon for Iowa, punting 42 times for 1,833 yards with a 43.6-yard average, a 65-yard long, and 18 punts inside the 20, while earning Freshman All-America honors after averaging 44.1 yards in 2024. He stands out for hang time, directional control, and the Hawkeye-style ability to flip field position, and reliable coverage of him has framed him as a high-end special teams fit rather than just a stats guy. The catch: he was reportedly in the transfer portal after 2025, so team fit now hinges on roster status as much as talent.
