Makena Hawkins brings speed-and-defense value to TSU’s outfield
Makena Hawkins is a freshman outfielder for Tennessee State in the 2026 season, and her profile leans more toward athletic upside than box-score pop right now: she arrived as a multi-tool center fielder from St. Joseph High, has been recognized as an Extra Innings ranked outfielder, and brings the kind of speed/coverage that can change a game in the outfield and on the bases. Her 2026 early offensive line is modest, but that makes her a fit for teams valuing defense, range, and development runway over immediate slugging.
