Jalen Richard

Jalen Richard brings scrappy guard defense and early-career energy to Santa Clara

Richard profiles as a low-usage, energy-first guard whose value comes from hustle plays, defensive activity, and flashes of playmaking rather than high-volume scoring; in his Santa Clara season, he averaged 3.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 15.6 minutes per game, with a standout debut showing 15 points, 3 steals, and 2 assists[4]. ESPN’s listed career numbers also show modest scoring efficiency and production, which suggests a player better suited to a role where toughness, ball pressure, and doing the little things matter more than offense creation[1][5].
