Jason Buhl brings Friday-night starter size, strikeout ability, and big-game durability to Western Illinois
In the 2026 season, Jason Buhl has been a volume-lefty for Western Illinois, logging 63.1 innings with 86 strikeouts and a 1.72 WHIP, while working as a trusted starter in the Leathernecks’ rotation. He’s the kind of 6'5" LHP coaches love: long, tough to square up, and proven enough to take the ball in high-leverage series. The upside is clear, but the run prevention has been uneven, so he fits best for a team that values pitchability, strike-throwing growth, and starter upside over pure polish.
