Hayden Bailey settled in as CMU’s late-season workhorse
In the 2026 season, Central Michigan right-hander Hayden Bailey showed real staying power: after an uneven start, he strung together five straight outings of at least 5 2/3 innings and capped it with a complete-game, two-hit shutout of Akron, striking out eight and walking one. His calling card is command under pressure and the ability to miss enough bats while keeping the ball in the park; he finished his two-year CMU career 6-7 with a 5.79 ERA, but his final 10 starts were much sharper at a 3.44 ERA and 0.945 WHIP. If you want a durable, competitive senior who can take the ball deep, he’s a pretty tidy fit.
