Jake Yeager is Maryland’s high-upside righty with starter tools and freshman poise
In the 2026 season, Jake Yeager has worked in 17 appearances with nine starts for Maryland, posting a 4-2 record and 29 strikeouts in 40.2 innings, flashing the kind of arm that can grow into more than just a rotation piece. He arrived with legit buzz — Perfect Game’s No. 84 pitcher nationally and Maryland’s 2024 Gatorade Pitcher of the Year — and evaluators have liked the fastball/slider mix, with added cutter and sinker giving him more ways to miss barrels. He’s the kind of arm you care about because the ingredients are real, and the ceiling still looks louder than the stat line.
