Cayden Hessemyer is a steady middle-infield bat with sneaky run production for FGCU
In the 2026 season, FGCU infielder Cayden Hessemyer hit .274 with 52 hits, 11 doubles, 27 RBIs, and 14 runs in 169 plate appearances, while also handling a big defensive workload with 60 putouts and 87 assists[1]. He’s the kind of player coaches like: contact-oriented, versatile, and productive enough to lengthen an order without needing to muscle the ball out of the park[1][6]. The buzz is real, too—he was a .333 hitter as a freshman in 2025 and delivered multiple clutch RBI moments, including a game-winning RBI against Stetson in 2026[1][5].
