Kole Laubach is a hard-nosed UCSB freshman arm with serious prep pedigree
In the 2026 season, Kole Laubach has already shown poise in his collegiate debut for UC Santa Barbara, working out of a runners-on-the-corners jam and striking out his first hitter in relief; the bigger story is the profile: a 6-foot-2 right-hander with elite high-school run prevention, including the first perfect game in Valley Christian history, a 0.97 ERA as a junior, and a reputation as a high-upside, competitive pitcher who also earned 2024 WCAL Pitcher of the Year honors. He looks like the kind of arm that fits a staff needing strike-throwing, composure, and upside.
