Shamar Givance brings veteran, pass-first point guard play to UTEP
Givance is a **steady, experienced lead guard** who has already shown he can run an offense, distribute at a high level, and contribute in multiple ways; UTEP’s roster bio says he started 31 of 32 games and led the Miners in assists at 4.4 per game, while ESPN lists him at 9.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in the season reflected there.[5][6] His differentiators are **court control, toughness, and guard versatility** rather than flashy scoring, and his background as a multi-year college contributor makes him a fit for a team needing poise, organization, and a dependable connective piece in the backcourt.[4][5]
