the walk-on-turned-tenacious Gael who earned trust the hard way
Giusti’s calling card is defense, toughness, and basketball IQ: Saint Mary’s described him as a “tenacious, in-your-face opponent” who earned a first collegiate start by sticking with the Gaels’ stars in practice and forcing timely turnovers in pressure games. The bigger reason to care is the role he carved out without hype — a low-key, high-hustle guard whose value shows up in the messy stuff scouts love: effort, adaptability, and game steadiness. If your team wants a gritty, smart guard who competes like every possession matters, Giusti fits the bill.
