Taggert Cameron brings two-way upside and early strikeout juice for FIU
In the 2026 season, Taggert Cameron is a freshman right-handed pitcher/infielder for FIU who flashed real mound utility by appearing in four games and working 1.1 scoreless innings at No. 10 Florida, plus a two-strikeout debut against Holy Cross and a side-strikeout outing vs. Stony Brook[2][11]. He entered college with legit prep pedigree — Perfect Game labeled him one of Florida’s better class-of-2025 shortstops and a 2A Player/Pitcher of the Year — and FIU’s roster lists him at 6-foot-4, 180 pounds, which hints at a frame with room to add more punch[3][6].
