Power Lefty Who Can Miss Bats, But Command Still Wags the Tail
Trenton Shaw is a 6'4", 225-pound left-handed starter for Grambling State who brings real strikeout juice and a heavy arm slot—he fanned eight in a 2025 win over Prairie View A&M and struck out eight again against Bethune-Cookman, showing the kind of upside that gets scouts leaning forward. The caution flag is command: in 2026 he’s had outings with walk issues and inconsistency, including a 5-walk, 4 1/3-inning loss against Northeastern and a rough night versus Mississippi State. If you want upside and swing-and-miss, he’s intriguing; if you need pinpoint polish, he’s still a work in progress.
