Timmy Lawson brings blue-chip upside and dual-sport toughness to UNC
In the 2024 recruiting cycle, Timmy Lawson arrived at North Carolina as a 6-foot-5, 231-pound freshman tight end and an early enrollee with four-star status, ranked by On3 as the nation’s No. 20 tight end and No. 44 player in Florida.[1] His appeal is the rare blend of size, ball skills, leadership, and competitive resume: he was a two-time all-state captain, produced 57 catches for 809 yards and four touchdowns across his sophomore and junior seasons, and also played baseball at a high level. The big question is health, after he missed most of his senior football season with a major knee injury.[1]
