Carter Speights gives UC Davis a steady, strike-throwing right-handed look with late-season lift
In the 2026 season, Carter Speights has worked as a versatile UC Davis RHP, including a strong 2.0-inning, scoreless relief outing with two strikeouts against UC Irvine and a win over Sacramento State, showing he can settle games down when he finds his rhythm. He’s a 6'3", 200-pound righty with starter experience and enough competitiveness to absorb tough early-season matchups, but his profile still reads as more control-and-innings than pure overpowering stuff. If you want a pitcher who can compete, adapt, and give you a chance to stabilize the staff, he’s worth a serious look.
