Merrimack’s Bobby Loper brings a big frame and relief depth
Loper is a 6-foot-4 right-handed pitcher for Merrimack who has worked mostly out of the bullpen, appearing in six games in 2025 and logging 6.1 innings with two strikeouts, including three scoreless innings in a March 2026 game versus Iona. His profile suggests a durable, projectable arm with size that can fit a staff looking for strike-throwing depth and matchup value; he also comes with multi-sport captain pedigree from high school, which hints at competitiveness and leadership. He looks like a fit for teams wanting a lower-variance reliever who can give steady innings rather than flashy velocity numbers.
