Charleston Pursley is a spark-plug center fielder with steady contact, speed, and run-scoring juice for SIU
In the 2026 season, Charleston Pursley has been a lineup catalyst for Southern Illinois, starting in center field and batting .333 through SIU’s early stretch while ranking third on the team in average and tying for the team lead with 14 runs scored.[7] She also showed immediate impact in February by going 3-for-4 with three RBI and four runs scored in a win, plus she adds value on the bases with stolen-base threat and extra energy that box scores don’t fully capture.[12][7] At 5-foot-3, she plays bigger than her frame, bringing speed, consistency, and table-setting upside that fits a team needing a reliable, high-motor outfielder.[3][7]
