Josh Cope brings versatility and catching-pop to Kent State’s 2026 mix
In the 2026 season, Josh Cope is listed as a 6-foot, 190-pound R-Jr. C/OF for Kent State, and his profile points to a versatile, athletic defender with catcher-grade tools and enough arm strength to profile behind the plate[1][2]. Earlier scouting notes described him as a right-handed hitter with a smooth, balanced move, sneaky juice, and quick-twitch actions, plus an above-average catch-and-throw arm[3]. His current 2026 stat line is still very small, so the bigger value is fit: a multi-position option who can help a roster with defense, flexibility, and a little edge[2][3].
