James Hill brings starter experience, a heavy frame, and comeback grit to USF’s mound mix
In the 2025 season, James Hill gave South Florida a usable starting look, appearing in 12 games with 4 starts, 23 2/3 innings, 19 strikeouts, and a 7.99 ERA; in 2026, he logged 1.1 innings over 2 appearances for the Bulls.[1] His calling card is the power right-hander package at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds with a R/R profile and a track record of missing bats, but the real differentiator is resilience: he returned from Tommy John surgery after a strong 2023 before injury, showing he can fight back and compete for innings.[1][4]
