Darius Walker brings veteran stability and special-teams grit to the Redbirds
In the 2024 season, Illinois State linebacker Darius Walker recorded 22 tackles, and his profile has also reflected steady recognition off the field, including 2025 NFF Hampshire Honor Society honors. He brings a compact, physical 6-foot-2, 220-pound build and the kind of veteran presence coaches love: dependable, disciplined, and tough enough to keep churning through contact. The big concern is availability, though—recent reporting says an Achilles tendon tear ended his 2026 season, so any team fit now hinges on medical recovery as much as talent.
